Feb.13, 2015, PLANO, TX — Grammy Award winning performers the Pointer Sisters will be the featured artists for the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County Gala 2015 on May 2 at the Hilton Anatole, Dallas. The evening will be proudly presented by longtime corporate sponsor Rent-A-Center. CACCC’s annual Gala benefits abused and neglected children who come to the Center to receive the help they need to heal from abuse.

The Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County utilizes a multi-disciplinary team approach to facilitate the investigation, treatment and prosecution of child abuse. Working with law enforcement and Child Protective Services, the Center brings all services to abused children under one roof to minimize additional trauma to vulnerable children. Highly trained forensic interviewers provide a child-friendly environment in which children can safely share their stories. The Center then offers therapy and support for children and their non-offending family members at no cost for as long as clients need help.

“Gala is the must-attend event of the year in Collin County, and each year we are proud to welcome incredible performers, generous sponsors and committed donors who come together in the fight against child abuse,” CACCC CEO Lynne McLean said. “In a single evening, nearly $700,000 will be raised to help provide free healing services to children who have been victimized by abuse or neglect.”

Returning to Gala this year is the exciting Lexus car raffle proudly presented by DFW Lexus Dealers. DFW Lexus is once again donating a car for raffle with the winner to be selected at Gala on May 2. Raffle tickets are now available for $50 each at caccollincounty.org, and just 2,000 tickets will be sold. Winners need not be present to win.

Gala tickets and table sponsorships are also available. Individual tickets for this black tie event are $275. Sponsorships range in price from $2,500 to $100,000. Attendance is expected to top 1,000 guests. Gala highlights include live and silent auctions, mobile auction bidding and the Pointer Sisters’ energetic performance.

From humble beginnings at their father’s church in West Oakland, Cali., The Pointer Sisters grew to achieve worldwide fame and secure a place in pop music history as a dynamic female group.

From their debut album in 1973 to the present day, the Pointer Sisters have stood the test of time and produced classics such as, “Fire,” “Slow Hand,” “Jump (for my love),” “I’m So Excited,” “He’s So Shy” and “Neutron Dance.” Over the years, their range of work has earned them Grammy Awards, American Music Awards and many Top 10 hits.

In 2004, the group recorded a live CD/DVD, which captured the energetic Pointers performing the hits that fans of all ages continue to enjoy. The Sisters are truly a legendary act and continue to dazzle audiences all over the world with their energetic performances.

Fairview residents and longtime CACCC supporters Cathy and Richard Riccardi are serving as Gala event co-chairs this year. The two are enthusiastic supporters of the mission of CACCC to provide safety, healing and justice to abused children.

"Our hearts break for the thousands of children who suffer abuse in our community every year, so we continue to support the Advocacy Center which provides exceptional healing services to these victimized children," Richard Riccardi said.
