It’s time for our annual Back-to-School Fair! This year, we plan to provide 800 children with school supply packs!
Buying school supplies can be difficult for families with children that have experienced abuse or neglect who are struggling to make ends meet. With your partnership, we can make sure that these children start their school year geared for success.
We are excited to announce that this year, in order to ensure our children get everything they need and to make the process convenient for our busy supporters, we will be moving to a system where we will purchase supply packs customized by grade-level for each child. The methods may have changed, but the mission remains the same. Every $30 you donate will provide one of these 800 children with the supply pack they need for a successful school year. Rainbow Classic Fore Kids 2016 Results
We are thrilled to announce that the 2016 Rainbow Classic Fore Kids raised more than $11,000 to benefit the children we serve.
More than 90 golfers joined us June 13 for this fabulous early summer golf tournament at the beautiful Woodbridge Golf Club in Wylie. Woodbridge brought back the Rainbow Classic in 2014 to help raise critically needed funds to support the work of the Center.
Our supporters and friends enjoyed a wonderful day of golf, breakfast from Fuzzy's Tacos, lunch from Herb's Paint & Body's food truck, drinks from Deep Eddy's Vodka and Nine Band Brewing, and awards. We are grateful to Woodbridge Golf Club for their leadership in bringing back this wonderful event.
Thank you to our tournament sponsors:

"This is the best day ever"
Any time a child or children are referred to us for forensic interviews by law enforcement or Child Protective Services, we interview every child living in the home to give every child the chance to disclose in their own words what life is like for them at home. Sometimes, one sibling may have disclosed abuse to a trusted adult but others haven’t yet. This gives investigators the chance to learn of any other offenses against the children living in the home.
Often the children surprise us with how relieved they are to share their stories. An invisible weight is often lifted from their shoulders, and they leave the Center already having begun their healing journeys.
Abe and his four siblings recently came to the Children’s Advocacy Center for forensic interviews because of allegations of severe physical abuse by their father. Several of the children disclosed severe physical abuse, and their father was arrested. The children have been placed in the protective care of a relative.
After every forensic interview, the child or children have the chance to visit our Teddy Bear Room where they can choose a special stuffed animal to take home with them. The Teddy Bear Room is a source of immediate comfort for children who have just shared details of painful experiences.
Abe went to the Teddy Bear Room and chose a stuffed monkey to take home with him. As he left the Teddy Bear Room clutching his new toy, he hugged it tightly and exclaimed, “This is the best day ever!”
