Returning to Gala this year is the exciting Lexus car raffle proudly presented by DFW Lexus Dealers. DFW Lexus Dealers will donate a 2017 Lexus RC for the raffle with the winner to be selected at Gala 2017 on April 29th. Raffle tickets cost $50 each, and just 2,500 tickets will be sold.
As a recipient of a competitive community service grant program, the Greater Frisco Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. strategically chose to partner with Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County (CACCC). What better way for a child to heal and ultimately flourish, but through their own imagination through the pages of a book.
The reading corner concept was created in response to the dismal literacy rates for socio-economically and educationally disadvantaged youth in our surrounding communities. The CACCC reading corner includes child friendly furniture as well as engaging books designed to educate and inspire the next generation.The grand opening and ribbon cutting for the reading corner called “The Reading Garden:Blooming Where You Are Planted” took place on Saturday, January14, 2017. The event was hosted by the Greater Frisco Chapter and attended by leadership from CACCC and regional members of Jack and Jill of America, Inc.

After experiencing sexual abuse by a relative Jill was unable to identify one positive trait about herself. She was experiencing depression and anxiety. She was also unable to express her opinions or how she felt to her family. After completing individual therapy and some family sessions Jill has become empowered to accept some positive things about herself. Her family has learned new ways to communicate and value each other’s feelings and opinions. Jill has reported that she feels supported by her family and that they have been instrumental in her feeling good about herself again. She now feels in control of her emotions and for the first time in months she feels safe
